I recorded this one last nite at my dentist's house.
Seriously.
It's for Angela Bowers - my friend and cohort. It's about being a tough girl and letting someone get the best of you and then getting over that someone.
I know I'm not supposed to say this about my own songs, but this one really gets me for some reason. The only thing I'd change if I had more than one week is the guitar solo. Not one of my more shining moments. Oh well.
Special thanks this week: the aforementioned Angela Bowers (as muse this time, not collaborator), Dr. Shanaahz Gill, his amazing girlfriend Meagan (sorry, Meagan, I can't spell your last name) and Tom Petty for writing the song "Yer So Bad."

lyrics
you're such a fun girl
you're so bad
and everybody knows it
you know they never look away
you're so bad
you've got ur own world
but you've been had
and you don't wanna show it
but i can see it anyway
you've been had
seen what you been lookin' for
it's not what u think no not at all
not at all
i know he didn't want anymore
but you can't feel bad baby sooner or later
you'll thank him
you'll find a new way
to keep your hand
and no one will see it
yeah you'll never give it away
you're gonna keep ur hand
seen what you been lookin' for...
Pretty, babies.

Hey Jamie - maybe it was your sister after all?? Nah, just kidding.. it's just me, Ed from Queens. Was serious about the songs though. Good stuff. Maybe I should guest star one week? Sure, I love getting into different projects if that was an offer. I play guitar mainly, but lately have been playing drums to keep my band going since we haven't had a permanent drummer in years. And I have some other instruments at my "home studio" (a.k.a, spare room) that I dabble in. Nothing exotic though - bass, keys, a mandolin I picked up and am trying to learn, etc. I put one of my bands urls in the response so hit me up there if you want. Or I can send along my email address.

Hi Jamie - you don't know me but I have been checking out your songs since I stumbled onto this site from another Astoria page. Great work. What I love is that you're not cranking out quick pop songs just to put out something each week. Instead, powerful songs with thoughts and feelings. Look forward to hearing the next ones.

Dear Jamie:
I read about your astounding project in today's(9/13/09)New York Daily News. Wow! I admire your determination in taking this on.
Listened to the Song "Sooner or Later" and loved it. Very good character description, you really got to understand her. Good luck as you continue on.
