I'm no Stevie Wonder, but I've finally given a whole-hearted go at writing a song about my daughter. It is unapologetically sappy, and a little mushy gusy, but the tempo moves a bit so hopefully you won't notice all that too much.
i don't try to figure out things
i like to live with surprise, with surprise
and if i have you i don't need anything
i just need to see what's in your eyes
don't wait to try it out
everything ends somehow
and you're growing up every hour
i know you'll break my heart, but you made it love
come here and break the part of me that you made, my love
just like the day is long
in here there is no wrong
no wrong
oh my love
i'm not sure of many things
and i really don't mind it that way that way, so i say
and if i have you so i don't need anything
i just need to see you for the rest of my days
don't wait to try it out...
This song is beautiful Jamie. I love how your songwriting has matured. More! We want more!
